Where it began
Kawiare did not begin with a business plan.
It began with a simple observation.
Too often, seafood loses its meaning once it leaves the water.
Origin becomes abstract. Craft disappears. Quality is reduced to a label.
We set out to do things differently.
To work with seafood as something shaped by place, time, and human decisions, not by speed or scale.
Sourcing
We work with a small number of fisheries and producers whose practices we understand and trust.
Each product reflects its environment, the conditions in which it was grown or caught, and the hands that shaped it afterward.
Rather than assembling a broad assortment, we curate a focused selection where every choice is deliberate.
This allows the product to speak for itself.
Craft and care
